Stevens Square Park is the geographic and social heart of the neighborhood. The park features a half basketball court, grills, a playground, and numerous benches and permanent tables. Since the neighborhood is home to the most pets-per capita in the city, the park is also a favorite for dogs and their owners.
Activities are hosted by the SSCO in the park year round, including
- Cinema and Civics, a free, outdoor film and music series for the community, held on Wednesday evenings in June and July in Stevens Square Park.
- Red Hot Art, the most cutting-edge community arts festival in the Twin Cities, featuring exclusively local visual artists showing and selling their work, public art installations, hands-on arts activities and eclectic performances of music, dance, film, puppetry and more.
- Fall Harvest Festival, a celebration of the turning of the seasons that's fun for the whole family. Activies include a dog costume contest, a bake-off, a chili-tasting competition, pumpkin painting, and more.
