Do you care about the future of Minneapolis neighborhoods?

Stevens Square Community Organization along with Citizens for a Loring Park Community, Elliot Park Neighborhood, the Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association and the North Loop Neighborhood are sponsoring an area meeting to listen to all residents.

This meeting will help determine the future of neighborhood organizations; their mission and purpose. We will be discussing an array of topics in and around of neighborhoods.

This is a one-time event which we would like you to be involved in. There will be a catered meal to entice you even more! Please come to:

Registration begins at 10 a.m.
Historic Abbott Apartments, 110 East 18th St

Refreshments will be served.

On the agenda:

Elections to the Board of Directors: Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and seven at-large members.

1) First completed development along Nicollet Ave in the neighborhood in ten years.
2) 35W construction timeline and details.
3) Exciting possible development in the neighborhood along Franklin Ave.

You are eligible to vote and to be a candidate if you are a resident, property owner, or business owner in Stevens Square-Loring Heights neighborhood and are over 16 years of age.

June 22 Community Safety meeting

A new co-chair for the Community Safety committee will be elected at this meeting to serve a two-year term beginning at the July 27 meeting.

Note: The election will take place as soon as the committee's other business is completed, regardless of the time.

Per the SSCO bylaws, anyone who lives, works, is a member of community organization, or owns property or a business in the neighborhood is eligible to be a candidate and to vote.

Candidates may submit their names for nomination in advance (contact Dave at 874-2840 or for further information or questions) or may nominate themselves at the meeting.

The Safety committee co-chairs are responsible for:

1) attending and running the monthly committee meeting, which usually occurs on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.;
